The Wonder Woman Group - Diversity Discussion - Building the Talent Pipeline
The Wonder Woman Group was launched in 2016 by Dr. Stephani Mason (Professor, DePaul University).
The group hosts dinner conversations about diversity, equity, and inclusion in both the academic and corporate setting with female leaders.
In conjunction with the PhD Project, the group recently convened virtually to strategize about how best to build the talent pipeline in diversity for unrepresented students pursuing business degrees and PhDs.
The event was organised by Dr. Stephani Mason, Program Host and Assistant Professor at the Driehuas College of Business, DePaul University and Shannon Stone-Winding, President & CEO, Black Alliance of Colleges and Employers (BACE).
Dr. Mason started the proceedings with introductions. This was followed by welcome remarks given by Elena Richards, Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer, KPMG.
Panelists included Dr. Erika James, the first woman and first person of color to serve as Dean of the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania; Dr. Jennifer Joe, a Professor and Chief Diversity Advocate at the Alfred Lerner College of Business & Economics at the University of Delaware; and Dr. Sandra Richtermeyer, Dean of the Manning School of Business at The University of Massachusetts Lowell (UMass Lowell).
Dr. Jamal Watson, a Professor of Communications at Trinity Washington University and editor and contributor to Diverse: Issues In Higher Education, moderated the panel.
