Research Assistant - Vegetarianism, social identity, and well-being

Description of the project:

One research assistant is needed to assist with a project about relationships among vegetarianism, social identity, and well-being funded by the Polish National Science Centre (OPUS grant, 018/31/B/HS6/02822). The principal investigator is John Nezlek (SWPS, Poznań, and William & Mary), and Marzena Cypryańska (SWPS, Warsaw), Izabela Krejtz (SWPS, Warsaw), and Catherine Forestell (William & Mary) are co-PIs.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Participating in research group meetings
  • Preparing research summaries
  • Assisting in the creation of measures
  • Organizing and conducting focus groups
  • Organizing and conducting experimental studies
  • Supervising teams of undergraduate assistants


We offer our assistant:

Depending upon the nature of the contribution the research assistant makes to a specific project, he or she may be a co-author on papers. Co-authorship is not guaranteed and will be decided on a case-by-case basis in ways that are consistent with APA guidelines on determining co-authorship.

The grant lasts for three years. Initially, the successful applicant will be offered a six-month contract. If the assistant's work is satisfactory, a longer contract will be offered.

The salary is up to 4500/month (netto)

Note: Although the grant is based in SWPS Poznań, much/most of the work (e.g., meetings) will occur in Warsaw.

Based on this information, some applicants will be invited for an interview. Interviews will occur at SWPS in Warsaw on 25 September 2019.

The results of the competition will be announced by 30 September 2019.

The successful candidates will be able to start working from 2 October 2019.
