Weekly Multi-Agency Supervision Meetings

A Local Authority based in the London region is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Corporate Parenting service which is responsible for the authorities Looked After Children

Highlights

  • The service uses the Hackney model and operates in Pods, this model has been further developed to include other professionals and specialists in the team to provide a more holistic package of care.
  • Children's services in the authority uses Systemic Practice which you will receive training on
  • You will gain experience of working on cases which have CSE, Gangs, Radicalisation and Substance misuse - you will also have the opportunity to specialise in one of these areas and take on a more dedicated post.
  • The LAC service had been praised by Ofsted with the experience and progress of Children in Care and Care leavers being Good.
  • The team benefit from weekly supervision meetings - which is a multidisciplinary meeting where cases are discussed. Current candidates have highlighted this as being a very powerful tool in helping them increase their knowledge and improve their practice.

The Local Authorities children's services are an innovative and adaptable service which has restructured to take on new developments within the field of applied Social Sciences. As a result of this Social Workers in the Corporate Parenting services are more supported as the teams are structured in Pods, where group discussions are encouraged. Ultimately these changes ensure that service users are getting a much more holistic package of care.

    The Corporate Parenting service ensure that the authorities Looked After Children remain safe. Members of the team will gain experience in dealing with cases that have CSE, Gangs, Radicalisation and Substance Misuse components, giving you the opportunity to specialist in one of these areas and taking on a more specialist post in the future.

    To be considered for this post you should have experience of working in a LAC team and have completing Court Work.
