Job Details
The purpose of the Assistant Accountant role is to support the Faculty Business Partnering teams in delivering strategic financial advice and support to Schools through the provision of accounting, financial management and financial reporting services.
The Assistant Accountant is the first point of contact for a selection of Schools / Departmental based customers dealing with daily queries, relating to the post award management of internal and external grant funds. This includes, but is not limited to, the ongoing, monitoring, forecasting and reporting of projects as well as resolving queries on an ad hoc basis.
The Assistant Accountant is required to take a customer-focused approach to the provision of financial information and analysis for the Faculty / Schools who require assistance in relation to financial matters.
We are looking for applicants with AAT and to be working towards or with a desire to undertake a CCAB accounting qualification. You should have an aptitude for working with finance and non-finance specialists and a customer service focused attitude. You should be a good communicator, able to organise workloads effectively and work well under pressure.
