Contribute to the broader Adelaide Rural Clinical School (ARCS) agenda of recruiting, supporting and mentoring the next generation of rural health professionals, including medical students and junior doctors based in the region

The Adelaide Rural Clinical School (ARCS) Clinical Academic will be based in Port Lincoln and responsible for:
  • Supporting the student learning for Year 5 Rural Cohort students through the provision of weekly site-specific tutorials in disciplines including, but not limited to, women's and children's health, and general practice.
  • The provision of pastoral care and educational remediation to individual students based locally, in consultation with senior academics.
  • Contribute to the medical student assessment as part of a broader medical education team.
  • Work with Aboriginal health academics and clinicians to support students to learn culturally safe clinical communication skills.


To be successful you will need:
  • Valid unrestricted medical registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Current clinical credentialing and regular involvement in hospital and/or after hours emergency roster.
  • A PhD equivalent qualification in Medicine (FACRRM/FRACGP) or evidence of rural practice experience and progress toward a Fellowship.
  • Demonstrated experience in medical education or equivalent experience in rural practice teaching.
  • Knowledge of the political workforce, educational and research issues surrounding rural practice and the issues affecting the training and retention of rural general practitioners.

(Level B) $97,577 to 115,495 per annum plus an employer contribution of 9.5% superannuation will apply
