Manageable Workload

A Local Authority based in London is seeking an experienced Social Work practitioner to join their Assessment service. The service has a very effective system to ensure that staff have a very manageable workload.

Highlights:

  • Duty every 6 weeks means you can clear off your caseload before being allocated a new batch
  • Loads of resources within the authority which you are able to access to help support your case work, especially when assessing as all information is accessible
  • Local Authority recently achieved an Outstanding Ofsted
  • Excellent opportunities for further development and you will have options as to whether you want to get into management, practice development, training or develop into a specialism
  • Excellent senior management team who have been with the authority for a number of years
  • Will have the chance to attend training modules which can contribute to a MSc

  • This is an excellent opportunity for those practitioners who are looking for a service which supports them with their caseloads by ensuring that workloads remain manageable. Caseloads within the Local Authority are very well managed with a cap in place, furthermore as Duty is held every 6 weeks there is enough time for you to clear off your caseload prior to being allocated a new batch. Additionally this provides you with the time you need to attend training and development modules.

This assignment will give you exposure to cases around Domestic Violence, Substance Misuse, and Parental Mental Health. These themes are the most common types of cases in the region, however there are now cases involving CSE and gangs which you can gain experience in and will have the opportunity to specialise in any one of these areas becoming the Local Authorities coordinator for such cases.

To be considered for this post you should have experience within a Referral and Assessment service.
