The Laboratory of Neuroproteomics in the Institute of Biology at UNICAMP is offering 01 (one) post-doctoral fellowship for research within the scope of the Thematic Project From the basic understanding to clinical biomarkers for schizophrenia: a neuroproteomics-centered multidisciplinary study.

The recipient's role will be in the development of new in vitro and in vivo preclinical models to study the molecular mechanisms involved with schizophrenia. Interested candidates must have completed their doctorate within the past seven years in the area of Biological Sciences or equivalent, and exhibit scientific knowledge about the theme of the project.

The candidate must have extensive experience in laboratory techniques such as the cultivation of cell lines and/or primary neuron cells for the development of neuronal and glial co-cultures; immunocytochemistry and fluorescence microscopy; PCR and RT-PCR; Western blotting; and flow cytometry. In addition, the candidate must present previous experience with in vivo methodologies for the establishment of behavioral protocols to study neuropsychiatric diseases, and with the evaluation of intracellular signaling pathway modulation in schizophrenia.

These requisites must be proven upon registering by means of a doctoral thesis and with publications in relevant scientific periodicals, resulting directly from the candidate's Master's and Doctorate works.

The candidate must also possess good communication skills in English, be proactive, have a capacity for experimental planning, and be comfortable working in teams. The work environment involves collaboration with other researchers and includes group meetings and weekly laboratory meetings.

Additionally, the candidate must have laboratory experience abroad, show an ability to communicate scientific knowledge through the publication of scientific articles and through the presentation of works in national and international congresses, and must be willing to, if necessary, perform parts of their project abroad.

The selected candidate will receive a Post-Doctoral fellowship from São Paulo Research Foundation-FAPESP in the amount of BRL 7.373,10 monthly, and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which must be spent on items directly related to research. The fellowship has duration of 24 months. The grant also includes the potential for Installation Assistance if it is necessary to move to the laboratory location. For the fellowship to be granted, the recipient must agree to exclusive dedication to the project, consisting of 40 (forty) hours weekly.
