Job Details
A Master's degree fellowship is available within the scope of a Young Investigator Project funded by São Paulo Research Foundation-FAPESP. The project aims to use computational and experimental methods for the identification and optimization of KLK5, KLK6 and KLK7 inhibitors, which will aid in the investigation of the role of these enzymes in different diseases.
The project will be developed at the Center for Natural and Human Sciences (CCNH), Federal University of ABC (UFABC), under the supervision of Dr. Renato Ferreira de Freitas.
This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationalities. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP MSc Fellowship of BRL 2,043.00 per month and Technical Reserve equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship to be spent on items directly related to the research activity. The grant also includes relocation assistance for researchers who need to move to the city of São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo, Brazil.
Requirements
The candidate must have, or be finishing, a degree in chemistry, biochemistry or pharmacy. Prior training in computational chemistry and/or molecular modeling is desired but not essential. In agreement with the FAPESP's rules ( http://www.fapesp.br/bolsas/ms ), the candidate must have graduated recently and within the normal term, and with an excellent academic record.

The closing date for applications is 31 October 2019. The fellowship is expected to start by January 2020.
Selection
Academic and scientific merit is the primary criterion for selection. Short-listed candidates will be contacted by email for an interview, which may be by videoconference. The successful candidate must be approved in the admission exam of the Biosystems graduate program ( http://biossistemas.ufabc.edu.br/ ).
