Facilitate innovative research project development in a world-leading research institute

The Research Development Coordinator works within Robinson Research Institute's professional services team and with the Institute's 350+ members to develop new research projects which enable world-class outcomes for research in the areas of fertility and conception, pregnancy and birth, early origins of health and, child and adolescent health.

This exciting position will facilitate the development of large collaborative research projects, working across research disciplines and with a wide range of stakeholders including government, industry, not for profit, peak bodies, health consumers and the community. The role will contribute to a range of programs and initiatives managed by the Institute to advance well-developed research projects and high-quality research submissions.

The Robinson Research Institute

The Robinson Research Institute is one of six research institutes at The University of Adelaide and is a collective of internationally renowned researchers in human reproduction, pregnancy and child health. We focus on events before birth, and how these impact health and disease in all children after birth and throughout life.

To be successful you will need:
  • A strong combination of innovation, analytic, communication and project management skills, with the ability to readily begin health research development within a university-based research institute.
  • Strong ability to understand and synthesise a wide range of ideas and concepts to proactively advance innovative research project development, bringing together different research strengths and disciplines, matched with stakeholder and community needs and aligned with funding sources.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to manage relationships internally and externally, facilitate meetings and workshops and, succinctly and clearly communicate material relevant to health research project development in written, verbal and visual formats.
  • Excellent project management skills with ability to innovatively design and dynamically manage plans to take projects from research concepts to competitive funding applications, resulting in funded research projects and programs.
  • High levels of initiative with the ability to manage and report on delegated responsibility under limited supervision.

Fixed term role available immediately for 12 months, with potential for extension (work hours can be 0.8 or 1.0 full time equivalent (FTE))
