Ako Aronui is a professional teaching recognition programme for all AUT staff involved in teaching and learning. It is based on Maori principles reflecting AUT's unique Aotearoa New Zealand university environment.

The Centre for Learning and Teaching is undertaking research on their Ako Aronui programme. The purpose of the research is to understand the participant's experience of the Ako Aronui programme, and the impact of the Ako Aronui programme on individuals and their practice.

We are looking for a part time Research Assistant to support this project. Supervised by Dr Nell Buissink, the successful applicant will be responsible for:
  • Inviting participants to interview
  • Arranging interviews and collecting consent forms
  • Undertaking and audio recording interviews
  • Creating interview transcripts
  • Removing identifying features from and uploading transcripts
  • Completing preliminary coding of transcripts

This role is an immediate start, and 15 hours per week.

The successful applicant will be have a postgraduate qualification, be fluent in English and familiar with common Te Reo Maori terms as well as having some experience with NVivo. Qualitative research experience is an advantage, and you will be organised, a great communicator and have accurate attention to detail.
