Job Details

My client is one of the biggest agrochemical companies in the world. Due to expansion, they have created a new role in the team for an experienced DGSA specialist to manage their whole samples program. These are samples of their products that they send across to (potential) clients so they can see and test the products in the field. On the other hand, they also get a lot of samples sent to them, from their own suppliers. Currently, the whole sampling is organized in a decentralized way, basically, every production plant organizing it themselves.

Your job:

  • Organize transport of all samples and make sure this happens in s safe way. Since it's a chemical company you will need to work with the specific regulations for transport on Road, Plane, Water (ADR, IATA, IMDG)
  • Organize transport of all incoming samples
  • Be in charge of Global sampling inventory and forecasting
  • Train different stakeholders at different shipping sites
  • Look at continuous improvement: how can this whole process be organized and where can you save costs
  • Be the go-to person for all questions regarding sampling
  • Make sure that the right packaging is used

This all makes it a varied role where you will have a lot of interaction with the different sampling shipping sites on a global level. Since you are the first person in this role, you will have the chance to shape your own position in the company. The amount of samples is growing on a yearly basis, meaning you can continually improve the currently used processes. You will be working in the area of Liege.

To be successful:

  • Science background
  • Knowledge about transporting chemicals ADR, IATA, IMDG (you don't need to be an expert in all three of them)
  • Good communication skills in English, French is a good plus
  • Ability to organize transport and work on process improvements
  • Living in the Liege area, Belgium or willing to relocate
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams
