The University Library Basel (UB Basel) is responsible for the central, all subject areas comprehensive, needs-oriented and target group oriented information supply at the University of Basel and the canton of Basel-Stadt. With a stock of more than 4 million books and e-books, subject databases and journals, it is one of the larger scientific libraries in Switzerland.

The UB Basel is the oldest secular library in Switzerland and has a unique, extensive historical inventory and numerous special collections. Because the demand for digitized sources is steadily increasing, the university uses special funds to promote flexible retro-digitalisation and digital use tailored to the needs of research.

Your tasks:
  • Collaboration in conservatory preparation and accompaniment of digitization projects at the University Library Basel
  • Autonomous manual processing of single objects and smaller stock groups
  • Documentation of the measures


Your profile:
  • University degree in Conservation / Restoration or equivalent (Master's degree)
  • Experience in book and paper restoration
  • Solution-oriented and structured way of working
  • You are an initiative, flexible and team-oriented personality with an extremely independent way of working and a high level of personal responsibility
