Language Tutor - French

The University of Bristol seeks to appoint a part-time (0.8 FTE worked over 10 months but paid over 12) Language Tutor in French Language from 1 January 2020 until 18 December 2020

French Studies is an integral part of a dynamic and forward-looking School of Modern Languages in the Faculty of Arts. French language is studied by highly qualified and well-motivated undergraduates either as a mandatory part of a Single Honours degree, as part of a Joint Honours degree in with another modern language or as part of a Joint Honours degree with another subject. French is also is also taught to students from all Faculties of the University on the University-wide Language Programme.

The Language Tutor will be expected to contribute flexibly across the full range of French language teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level. S/he will also support the language team in the School of Modern Languages in developing the most up-to-date teaching methods and materials and will make an administrative contribution to language-related activities.

The successful candidate will have a relevant first degree, native or near native competence in French and English, and is likely to have both a relevant postgraduate qualification and experience of language teaching, ideally in the HE sector.
