Job Details
Role 1: Geotechnical Engineer (2+ years) - Offshore Site Investigation and office based work
Role 2: Project Engineer (5+ years) - Predominantly office based
Salary: £25,000 - £40,000
Location: Bristol
The Role: Site investigation, Geotechnical Design (pile foundation design, bearing capacities, liquefaction assessment)
Academic: BEng Civil Engineering or similar
This international client is raising their profile in the UK and you will be an integral part of this growth as their workload expands!
We are looking for both a Geotechnical Engineer and a Project Engineer (differences described above)
The Position:
Offshore responsibilities are:
- Pre-mobilisation preparations of vessel and geotechnical equipment for offshore fieldwork
- Liaison with onshore client and offshore client representatives for duration of the project
- Management of all offshore personnel including ensuring high levels of QHSE are adhered to by all persons involved
- Instructing the drillers and downhole tool operators as the borehole advances the sampling frequency and type to ensure the best quality geotechnical data is gathered to complete the project
- Quality control and processing of geotechnical data to produce field borehole logs
- Arranging of onshore laboratory testing schedules
- Perform on-site preliminary engineering, where necessary, and create field operations and engineering reports
Office based responsibilities are:
- Creating pre-mobilisation documents and technical reports
- Processing, quality assuring and interpreting geotechnical data to generate design soil profiles
- Performing geotechnical engineering including bearing capacity calculations, pile foundation design, pile driving analyses, liquefaction assessment and pipeline route engineering
- Communicating and building relations with clients and suppliers
- Monitoring and arranging calibration of geotechnical equipment
- Producing technical procedures and guidelines, engineering memorandum, and risk assessments
- Development of in house geotechnical engineering software including gINT software and creating vba based software to comply with new industry standards
