Job Details

Are you an enthusiastic, experienced member of a surgical team, with an up-to-date knowledge of operating theatre instrumentation and procedures?

Would you like to play a key role in training the surgical teams of tomorrow?

Do you want to use your skills to help grow an exciting co-operative venture between the University and the NHS?

The CADSIM (Cadaveric Surgical Simulation) Programme provides high quality cadaver-based simulation training to surgical and other trainees throughout the Yorkshire & Humber region. Working with industry and national professional bodies, it offers advanced training to senior surgeons, and provides novel inter-professional education opportunities in disciplines such as Operating Department Practice and Radiography. The programme is a joint venture between the Division of Anatomy in the Leeds Institute of Medical Education, and Health Education England (HEE).

With a track record of working as part of a surgical team, you will be responsible for managing and quality assuring all aspects of the CADSIM courses, working closely with clinical course leaders, sponsors, equipment suppliers and Anatomy staff. You will use your excellent communication skills to establish new relationships with senior clinical staff, and will work with them to develop new courses. You will identify and lead the development of new inter-professional education opportunities, forge new sponsorship deals, and work with the Programme Directors to achieve professional accreditation of courses by bodies such as the Royal College of Surgeons.
