Plant Director - Chemicals

My client a established and growing chemical company who is currently in the process of developing their site in the Cologne area. Currently they are in need of an experienced Plant Director to join their company to lead the maintenance of the production plant, laboratory buildings and infrastructure. This position is great for an experienced Operations Manager who has a background working in the petro-chemical sector, being responsible for all engineering and maintenance in a production environment.

This position will be reporting directly to the Vice President and responsible for all major business decision making - including maintenance, plant and operations safety, cost saving strategies and motivating the team to ensure safety is held at the highest standard. The current Site Leader is still at the company for the time being, who will be aiding in any hand over necessary before retiring. This opportunity will give you the chance to work closely with someone who can pass on all the company information, rather than stepping in to something new with no guidance. This is a very high position and successful candidate should be professional and bring with them strong leadership experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning of the maintenance of the production site
• Control technical concept for the optimisation of our process equipment
• Developing infrastructure facilities
• Regular maintenance and system availability of the appropriate electrical
• Implementation and commissioning of investment projects
• EHS management
• Plan & control change management
• Responsible for a great team

Successful candidates must have:

• 15+ years experience Maintenance & Engineering Manager
• Production & operations management
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering or similar
• Ideally working in a production environment
• Process optimisation and maintenance
• Ideally working in the chemical sector - specifically petro-chemicals
• fluent in German & English
