The Faculty of Health Sciences is a new and dynamic Faculty at the University of Hull. The Education and Research profile spans through Medicine, Nursing, Midwifery, Paramedicine, Allied Health, Social Work, Bio-Medical Science, Psychology to Sports Health and Exercise Science.

The University of Hull has been praised for excellent student outcomes by a Government panel evaluating excellence in teaching in UK Universities. The University was awarded Silver in the Teaching Excellence Framework and we aim to build on this success and continue to strive for excellence in our teaching and student experience. Within the Faculty of Health Sciences we have developed the structure and content of our under graduate curricula to ensure that our students can meet the complex and evolving challenges that they face in practice. To support the current and future operating department provision, we are seeking an experienced, motivated and talented HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioner to join the programme team.

The post holder will join a team of academic staff involved in the delivery of our under-graduate provision offered within the Faculty. The role requires a contribution to the planning, development, delivery, quality assurance and enhancement of our BSc (hons) Operating Department Practice. The role also requires engagement in scholarly activity related to clinical practice, policy or education. Teaching and supervision on all components of our continuing professional development programmes will be required.

In addition, to a strong educational offer, the Faculty provides excellent opportunities for practitioners who wish to build their academic career. Supported by an internationally renowned professoriate and a commitment to continuing professional development, the Faculty encourages all academic staff to enhance their teaching skills through the development of scholarly activity.

For informal discussions regarding the post please contact Nicki Credland, Head of Department, on 01482 463334 n.credland@hull.ac.uk
