The Faculty of Arts, Design and Social Sciences offers a range of undergraduate courses in Art and Design History, Contextual Issues and Theory to practitioners of art and design, and these offerings are a core part of their curriculum. Our Design History staff form part of our Visual and Material Culture Group located in the Department of Arts.

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer or Lecturer who will play an active role in the vibrant and interdisciplinary research culture of the Faculty. You will contribute to delivering the Faculty's strategic priorities, which include the integration of excellent teaching, high quality research, emerging business and regional engagement development activities within an academic context. The role holder will be responsible for the development, organisation and delivery of curriculum content, within undergraduate and postgraduate programmes of the department. The role holder will also contribute to research activities, delivering appropriate research 'outputs', income generation and 'impact' as agreed by the department Research leadership team.

You should have a PhD in Design History or a related discipline and have a record of appropriate teaching experience in higher education. You should also be able to demonstrate an active and robust research record supported by publications. Applicants with experience in contemporary design history are welcomed.
