Stellenbosch University's Department of Drama is a leading arts department in South Africa, renowned for high quality academic, creative and technical training on undergraduate and postgraduate level. An important aspect of the training and creative functioning of the Department is an alignment with the needs of the various communities that SU Drama serves.

• Voor- en nagraadse onderrig van praktiese komponente met 'n spesialiteit in Toneelspel (verhoog en/of kamera);
• Voor- en nagraadse onderrig van teoretiese Teaterstudie-modules;
• Nagraadse studieleiding;
• Aktiewe deelname aan die navorsings- en publikasiebedrywighede van die Departement;
• Uitvoering van administratiewe en organisatoriese pligte soos vereis deur die Departement;
• Aktiewe deelname aan produksies en projekte van die Departement.

• Teaching under- and postgraduate practical components with a speciality in Acting (stage and/or screen);
• Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate theoretical Theatre Studies modules;
• Postgraduate supervision;
• Actively participating in the research and publication activities of the Department;
• Performing administrative and organisational duties as required by the Department;
• Actively participating in productions and projects of the Department.

• PhD in Drama-, Performance en/of Teaterstudie;
• Bewese ervaring van nagraadse studieleiding op Meesters- en Doktorale vlak;
• Minimum van vyf jaar onderrigervaring van praktiese toneelspelkomponente (verhoog en/of kamera);
• Bewese onderrigervaring van teoretiese komponente (Teaterstudie, teks- en performance ontleding);
• Bewese publikasierekord.

Neem kennis:

As deel van die onderhoudsproses sal daar ook van kandidate verwag word om:

• 'n akademiese referaat aan te bied om sy/haar huidige navorsing bekend te stel;
• 'n waargenome, praktiese klas aan te bied vir studente van die Departement.

• PhD in Drama, Performance and/or Theatre Studies;
• Proven experience in postgraduate supervision on Master's and Doctoral level;
• Minimum of five years' teaching experience in practical acting components (stage and/or screen);
• Proven teaching experience in theoretical components (Theatre Studies, text and performance analysis);
• Proven publication record.

As part of the interview process, candidates will be expected to:

• deliver an academic paper to present his/her current research;
• present an observed, practical class for students from the Department.

• Bewese praktiese uitsette in die professionele teater-/televisie-industrie;
• Onderrigervaring van Regie, Teksskepping, Radio, en/of Beweging;
• Ervaring van kurrikulumontwikkeling.

• Proven practical outputs in the professional theatre/television industry;
• Teaching experience in Directing, Script Creation, Radio, and/or Movement;
• Experience in curriculum development.
