The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant /Associate Professor position in the non-tenure academic-clinician track. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Blood Bank, Transfusion Medicine, and Apheresis. Pediatric experience preferred, but not required. The position will be based within the Division of Transfusion Medicine at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Responsibilities include serving as the Assistant Director of Blood Bank and Transfusion Medicine at CHOP Main and our other satellite facilities responsible for transfusions throughout our larger network. The applicant will also serve as an Assistant Medical Director in the Apheresis Unit at CHOP Main, joining a team of physicians for coverage and call. We serve a diverse population of patients including patients with sickle cell disease as well as a growing stem cell and solid organ transplant service. Responsibilities will also include teaching residents and fellows rotating through the Division as well as undergraduate medical education.
Applicants must have an M.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education and clinical care as well as Board Certification or Eligibility in Blood Bank and Transfusion Medicine.
