University of Technology of Compiègne is seeking to fill a postdoctoral research position for the Biology Engineering Department.

Research in the field of biochemistry and biophysics of membrane proteins and in the field of molecularly imprinted polymers.

Principal activities
The aim of this 12-months project is to design antibody mimics specific for the membrane protein TSPO2. The synthetic antibody mimics, commonly referred to molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs), will be obtained by solid-phase synthesis using the epitope approach relying on the selection of TSPO2 surface exposed peptide epitopes.

A particular attention will be focused on the choice of the functional monomers cocktail such as to optimize the interaction of their functionalities with the side-chains of the amino acids of the epitopes. In parallel to the synthetic polymers synthesis, the TSPO2 protein will be produced by cell-free and/or bacterial expression. Binding with the epitope peptides and full TSPO2 protein will be performed to assess the sensitivity of the designed artificial antibodies. These studies will be complemented by cross-selectivity tests.
