Aga Khan University Hospital invites applications for the position of Senior Medical Physicist.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible to:
- assist in the selection of radiotherapy equipment as per vendor specifications and departmental requirements
- perform acceptance testing and commissioning of radiotherapy equipment, along with beam data measurements and beam configuration
- calibrate all radiotherapy equipment and oversee quality assurance in the procedures performed and treatment provided
- provide simulation consultation, perform isodose planning and maintain patient data as part of treatment planning.
- assist in dose calculation formalism of special treatment techniques such as TBI & IMRT, including patient-specific and in vivo dosimetry
- ensure radiation protection of personnel, carry out radiation surveys and maintain personnel dose records to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- train future medical physicist, resident physician and technologists in the field of radiation oncology
- implement the new advanced treatment techniques
- supervise and provide consultation in the planning and delivery of radiation therapy including activities related to hiring of staff, their training & education, and patient planning & delivery of treatment.
Requirements
You must have:
- at least M.Sc/MS in Physics; Medical Physics will be preferred
- a minimum of 7 years' experience as a Medical Physicist, preferably in a teaching hospital fully equipped with relevant imaging and radiation therapy modalities
- appropriate credentials as a Medical Physicist
- strong analytical skills
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to communicate effectively with patient and their attendants
- effective decision making skills
- personal attributes such as initiative, problem-solving, and teamwork are highly valued.
