The appointee will be responsible to:
- provide support in writing, revising and proof reading research grant applications and in handling internal management processes.
- providing epidemiological and biostatical support to faculties and postgraduate trainees.
- facilitate obtaining approvals from the university Research Office and submission to the granting agency.
- review manuscripts received for publications and provide suggestions before submission to the journal.
- prepare quarterly report giving progress on all research related activities in the Department.
- prepares materials for submission to agencies and foundations that fund research.
- manage correspondence related to project.
- organizes, maintains, and updates website content.
- supervise undergraduate students working on assigned research projects.
- assess the accuracy, specificity and completeness of applications submitted to Department's Research Review Committee (DRC) and provide timely guidance to the applicants. In addition facilitate in details for ERC submission.
- review and suggest improvements relating to the research project, written protocols and related informed consents
- conduct literature searches, tabulate research data and record results of experiments.
- develop research survey, questionnaire, or tests and prepare research manuscripts and research presentations
- assess training gaps and develop new courses for residents and faculty, teach synopsis writing, epidemiology and biostatistics courses and other topics to the residents
- conduct periodic audits to validate that the research being conducted in the department conforms to institutional standards of ethical and professional practice
- assist in all regulatory activities for the Department of Medicine including research audits to maintain research and data integrity standards for both internal and external reviews and accreditations
- streamline synopsis and thesis submission process
- need to develop potential to bring international and local funding.
Requirements
Applicants should have:
- MBBS/ M Phil /MPH / MSc in Epidemiology and Biostatistics
- experience of community and/ or hospital based research with respect to data collection, storage, field editing, quality checks and data entry
- good command in written and spoken Urdu and English with fluency in local language
- good communication skills
- good teaching skills and knowledge of new teaching methodologies and practices
- well versed with current research methodologies with a preferable track record of publications
- good conceptual and analytical skills
- proficiency in use of related computer software packages
