A research associate position is available in the laboratory of Professor Momo Bentires-Alj at the Department of Biomedicine (DBM) in Basel, Switzerland. The successful candidate will work on breast cancer and metastasis using mouse models. Selected publications of our lab include: 1- Cessation of CCL2 inhibition accelerates breast cancer metastasis by promoting angiogenesis. Bonapace L, et al., Nature 2014. 2- PIK3CAH1047R induces multipotency and multi-lineage mammary tumors. Koren S, et al., Nature 2015. 3- Hippo kinases LATS1/2 control human breast cell fate via crosstalk with ERα. Britschgi A, et al., Nature 2017. 4. Glucocorticoids promote breast cancer metastasis. Obradović MMS, et al. Nature 2019.

Your position

The tasks include: a) Manage our breast cancer patient-derived xenograft (PDX) collection and support researchers with projects on mouse models of metastasis (80%); b) preparing animal permits (10%), and c) helping with general lab tasks (10%).

Your profile

A strong experience in mouse models of cancer (PDX, transplantations, documentation, in vivo imaging) and expertise in molecular/cellular biology (e.g., PCR, cell culture). Expertise in immunology (e.g., FACS, immunophenotyping) is a plus. The candidate should be wellorganized, highly motivated, a team player, and must be fluent in English.
