We are seeking a highly capable, enthusiastic and motivated scientist to lead our molecular and expression group focused on antibody and protein expression. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in the design of DNA constructs that deliver high purity antibodies and protein reagents on a milligram to gram scale. Constructs will include antibody biotherapeutic leads, protein reagents, immunogens, and phage display reagents. This position requires strong expertise in mammalian tissue culture techniques including stable and high yield transient transfection technologies. This person will play a critical role in supporting preclinical efforts in developing novel antibody-based therapeutics.

  • DNA sequence design and protein engineering
  • Mammalian cell culture; transient and stable protein expression
  • Coordination of vector and expression requests
  • Data analysis, report generation and presentation of results
  • Collaboration with Research and Development scientists

Required Qualifications:
  • BS or MS in biological sciences or relevant field
  • Minimum of 10 years of post-baccalaureate lab experience in a related industry environment
  • Extensive expertise in molecular biology techniques and vector design
  • Proficient with aseptic technique and cell line maintenance
  • Demonstrated expertise in execution and troubleshooting of mammalian expression
  • Success in managing research associates with flexibility and prioritization skills to meet personal and group goals
  • Ability to perform routine tasks independently and commitment to high quality analysis and documentation

Preferred Experience:
  • Antibodies and biotherapeutics drug discovery process
  • Lentiviral transduction and gene editing technologies
  • Protein expression and production in bacterial, yeast, or fungal systems
  • Microscale high-throughput processes
  • Recombinant protein purification and liquid chromatography techniques
  • Analytical chromatography, mass spectrometry and/or glycosylation evaluation
  • Flow cytometry and cell binding assays
  • Technical writing and patent documentation review and submission
  • Design and implementation of new assays and technologies
  • Excellent teamwork and written/oral communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational and multi-tasking skills
