Social Worker - Project Peripatetic Team - £41K

A Local Authority based near Wandsworth is seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join their new Peripatetic team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a brand-new team supporting and protecting children, young people and families within Children and Family Services who are affected by Domestic Abuse.

Main Responsiblities:

The core of this role is the delivery of positive safety and wellbeing outcomes for children and families who are affected by domestic violence. These outcomes are delivered:

• By direct social work practice with high complexity / high risk families where domestic violence is a significant factor.
• By building and developing relationships with services and practitioners in other agencies that specialise in domestic violence work in order to provide co-ordinated and effective partnership working in the borough.

The work focuses on developing safety for the children, empowering the victim and encouraging/motivating the perpetrator to address their behaviours. The aim of the team is to assess, intervene and reduce the risk of domestic abuse.

There is a greater degree of autonomy with this assignment as Social Workers are able to work remotely and are provided the equipment to do so. To be considered for this post you should have experience of working within a front-line Social Work team. You should have also completed your ASYE.
