Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research fellow position in the area of biomedical microsystems. The successful candidate will conduct research work for the development of a novel Wearable and Flexible Biosensing Platform. This position is funded by Engineering & Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) project grant(EP/P018998/1). The project is focused on the development of a flexible platform integrated with multi-functional microfluidics and biosensors for simultaneous manipulation of liquids and sensing biomolecules. You will work closely with the group of Prof Richard Fu, Prof Glen McHale and Prof Stephen Todryk at Northumbria University, UK. The contract will be followed by an additional fixed term 6-month contract on which you will continue your research as an independent research fellow.

The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of lab-on-chip devices, bio sensing principles and microfluidics, especially for applications in cellular detection. A PhD in a relevant discipline is essential, relevant postdoctoral experience is desirable. In addition to the scientific work, the candidate is expected to contribute to the dissemination of the project outcomes. Demonstration of proficiency in publishing scientific work is essential.
