Senior Credit Risk Analyst / Commodity Trading / Switzerland

I am looking for a credit analyst to join the growing and dynamic Credit function of a Bank specialised in Commodity Trade Finance in Switzerland.

As a key member of the credit analyst team you will cover a portfolio of Commodity Trading Houses and be responsible for structuring and analysing credit risk in regards to Commodity Trade Finance transactions in diverse commodities and to establish related limits in close cooperation with the risk units of the bank and the group.

Responsibilities:

• Support the CTF relationship managers by preparing an independent and comprehensive credit application package which clearly outlines proposed risks, in particular financial and structure risks as well as risks related to operations, counterparties, price and country risk.
• Ensure a smooth and efficient credit approval process by providing all necessary information for the decision making in a credit write up to relevant risk units in the Group and/or the bank in Switzerland and follow up closely on approved credit decisions.
• Participate in credit deal structuring (term sheet discussions and preparation) and negotiation (if required) with clients.
• Present credit assessments/applications in a clear, structured, concise and confident manner and ensure adherence to the defined lending standards and working instructions.
• Ongoing monitoring of financial / commodity markets and regulatory developments, etc. with respect to existing counterparties.
• Work with Business and Risks Units of both the Bank, but potentially also with clients.
• Coach and train less experienced team members of transactions and credit files.
• Direct reporting line to the Head of Credit

Profile:

• Swiss / EU passport or valid Swiss work permit.
• A Master or equivalent graduate degree in a relevant area
• 3-7 years of commodity lending experience in a front office or risk function within Investment/Corporate Banking or within a leading Trading Company.
• Excellent knowledge of Commodity Trade finance and transactional trade finance.
• A good understanding of legal aspects of trade finance instruments would be a plus, incl. experience with syndicated (LMA standard) facilities.
• Fluent in English
