Under the direct supervision of a Specialist / Lead or Principle Technician, your primary responsibilities are related to assisting pharmacists in drug distribution, inventory management, drug preparation and delivery in any assigned area like Inpatient, Outpatient Pharmacy, and Pharmacy store, sterile and non-sterile compounding sections.

Responsibilities

Specifically, you will be responsible to:
  • Maintain assigned work areas and equipment in clean and orderly condition.
  • Accurate filling of drug / medication cassettes
  • Ensure timely delivery of medications to right location and various point of dispensing or use like pharmacy satellites, wards, clinics or physician offices etc.
  • Handle large and heavy drug cartons and place on shelves
  • Ensure Inventory management (critical list, transfer notes, negative balance, indent checking and placement) of perpetual, lot and expiry control, FIFO (first-in, first-out) arrangement etc.).
  • Generate PR/MSR (Purchase requisition / Material Stock Requisition) for consumables and maintain adequate supplies
  • Assist pharmacist during audit or related activities in maintenance of pharmacy and records
  • Replenishment of stat drug slips, I/V drips and floor stock drugs.
  • Regular picking of credit drugs and empty bags/containers/bottles from nursing units.
  • Bring cash change and deposit cash at regular intervals.
  • Cash handling in selected area, if assigned
  • Unpack packaging material and cleans.
  • Perform sterile and non-sterile compounding as per applicable standards
  • Maintain personal protective equipment and good manufacturing/compounding practices
  • Complete paper work and maintain record of prepared drugS
  • Perform store inventory management, supplies receiving, RTV (Return to Vendor),
  • GRIN (Goods Receiving Note) processing, SPR (Stock Purchase Request) and replenishment request to vendors, expiry and lot control, indent and transfer note delivery and area maintenance
  • Reconcile inventory with satellites and charge medicine on field projects and trial codes.


Requirements
  • Intermediate. Graduate will be preferred.
  • Dispenser Diploma Course will be an added advantage.
  • 1-2 years' experience of working in hospital pharmacy, medical store or clinic.
  • Good knowledge of basic pharmacy operations.
  • Knowledge of key medication classes, medical supplies and dosage forms.
  • Ability to read prescription, labels, drug names.
  • Must have dexterity to handle heavy items, walk long distance and perform repetitive task
