Under the direct supervision of a Specialist / principal technician, Lead Technician has responsibilities related to assigned supervisor (Specialist / Principal Technician) drug distribution, inventory management, drug preparation & drug filling and delivery in any assigned area like Inpatient, Outpatient Pharmacy, and Pharmacy store, sterile and non-sterile compounding sections.

Responsibilities

Specifically, you will be responsible to:
  • Ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedure, JCIA standards.
  • Ensure accurate filling of drug / medication cassettes and timely delivery of medications to right location and various point of dispensing or use like pharmacy
  • Lead inventory management (critical list, transfer notes, negative balance, indent checking and placement, perpetual, lot and expiry control, FIFO (first-in, first-out) arrangement etc.).
  • Generate PR/MSR for consumables and maintain adequate supplies
  • Support pharmacist & principal technician during audit or related activities in maintenance of pharmacy and records.
  • Manage regular picking of credit drugs and empty bags/containers/bottles from nursing units.
  • Manage credit to unused drugs and place credits and indents medicines on the shelves ensuring right location and FIFO principle.
  • Manage float money, cash change and deposit cash at regular intervals.
  • Charge prescriptions (if assigned) and e-pharmacy orders and maintain work load statistics data on daily and monthly basis
  • Perform sterile and non-sterile compounding as per applicable standards
  • Maintain personal protective equipment and good manufacturing/compounding practices
  • Maintain adequate inventory stock of chemicals and drugs used in compounding
  • Under supervision of Principal Technician perform store inventory management, supplies receiving, RTV, GRIN processing, SPR and replenishment request to vendors, expiry and lot control, indent and transfer note delivery and area maintenance.

Requirements
  • Intermediate. Graduation will be preferred.
  • Dispenser Diploma Course will be an added advantage.
  • 4-8 years' experience of working in hospital pharmacy, medical store or clinic
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, key medication classes, medical supplies and dosage forms.
  • Ability to read prescription, labels, drug names.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage special project independently.
