Help Recruit, Support and Train Foster Carers

A Local Authority based in the London region is seeking an experienced Supervising Social Worker to work with their Foster Carers to provide support and training

Highlights:

  • This is a Fostering Social Worker post where you will be Assessing, recruting, supporting and training foster carers
  • The team deal with the assessment and support of foster carers and there is a dedicated Fostering Social Worker to deal with all initial enquires from prospective foster carers.
  • The Local Authority uses Systemic Practice and use multi disciplinary teams to provide a more holistic package of care
  • Foster Carers and service users have access to Primary Mental Health Practitioners to help support with any case which has complex needs.
  • The Local Authority is running a number of projects such as the Mockingbird Project and Virtual Reality which you will be a part of.
  • This is a stable and established team with members who are experienced enough to work autonomously when required
  • The Local Authority received a Good Ofsted rating following its last inspection in 2019
  • The Team have an excellent working synergy with the Looked After Children service and information is shared effectively between services
  • The Local Authority has implemented a new project to improve information sharing with other services outside Children's Social Work so staff are able to access information quickly, which ultimately reduces their own workload.

    • This is an excellent opportunity to work in an innovative Local Authority which has been running the Mockingbird project in order to provide a better network of support for foster carers and service users. The Local Authority does actively take part in innovative new trials as new methods of practice are demonstrated to have a positive outcome. This is something you will have the opportunity to get involved in which can improve our level of practice and improve future employability as these methods of practice become more popular

    As a Supervising Social Worker you will be providing training and support to foster carers to help them with the children they look after. The Local Authority uses Systemic Practice which promotes a more holistic package of care by using a multi agency approach
