School Social Worker- Project Work

I am working with a South West authority who has started a school social worker project, my client is looking for qualified social workers who would like an opportunity to grow within the social care industry and will actually look to effect positive changes within the social care industry.

In this post you will have regular communication between you, the social worker and the school staff, sharing your knowledge and expertise, advice and support which increases their confidence in safeguarding issues, and improves the quality of school referrals. You will support Social Workers and Schools identify common issues in the school and challenge current ways of working in a restorative manner. You will champion the role of the social worker in the school, increasing awareness of the need to take a young person's wider circumstances into account, improving the service they receive.

In front line services as you are all aware the most important team is finding the time to provide a grate level of service to all your cases but you never seem to find the time due to the number of cases you have to carry.

Team managers will have regular liaison meetings with their social worker and school leader responsible, so that there is a shared understanding of the children and risks, as well as the workload more generally. With the opportunities that will arise from social workers being based in school there may be an aspect of the role that could be described as preventative; this may include advising staff, families and young people when they have concerns that they would like to discuss, or working with siblings in the family not considered as meeting threshold.

This should not be confused with Early Intervention Work which should continue to be provided as a separate service and would include Team around the Child and completing Early Help Plans. Work is Child Focused, instead of a real push to meet deadlines; the work is about providing the best service Use Liquid Logic Computer System.
