We have exciting opportunities for full time Team Manager available in Camborne, St Austell and Launceston.

We are an ambitious forward-thinking service who believes that the children if Cornwall deserve the very best and we are looking for Social Work Team Managers who share this vision for our Cornish children.

We believe in relationship-based social work practice with children and families. Our unified approach in Cornwall is characterised by interventions that are strengths-based and pro-social learning. Our innovative practice and services reflect this approach, including things like the Family Partnership Model, Functional Family Therapy and Video Interaction Guidance. We are a 'Signs of Safety' implementing local authority and partnership. We have taken a whole-system approach to supporting families and improving outcomes for children.

We are looking for innovative, experienced and proven practitioners and social work managers with substantial experience in statutory social work with children and families. You will be able to evidence how you have applied your learning to your practice, and you will have a track record of practice that improves the lives of children. Alongside this, we will support you to develop your career through ongoing professional development and career support.

You must be qualified with a social work degree, social work qualification or equivalent and Social Work England registered.

As a team manager you will have regular liaison meetings with their social worker and school leader responsible, so that there is a shared understanding of the children and risks, as well as the workload more generally. With the opportunities that will arise from social workers being based in school there may be an aspect of the role that could be described as preventative; this may include advising staff, families and young people when they have concerns that they would like to discuss, or working with siblings in the family not considered as meeting threshold.

This should not be confused with Early Intervention Work which should continue to be provided as a separate service and would include Team Around the Child and completing Early Help Plans.

Candidates need to have post-qualifying experience of working with children & families in context of current legislation.
