(Level B) $99,441 - $103,078 per annum and employer contribution of 9.5% superannuation will apply.

The University of Adelaide Enterprise Agreement 2017-2021 will apply to a successful candidate's employment at the University. The University recently temporarily varied its Enterprise Agreement. Please be advised that the salary range, along with other conditions associated with this position, may change in accordance with the variation to the Enterprise Agreement.

Fixed term contract for 18 months available from October 2020

Make significant contributions to the state of the art in optimising and automating cyber security operations and security big data analytics

Work in close collaboration with our research partners from industry and government sector and other research providers to develop the next generation of methods and tools for supporting engineering of big data security analytical systems.

You will be working in a team that is highly knowledgeable and skilled in developing and/or evaluating software security and resilience solutions by leveraging applied Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) approaches and technologies. This position is particularly focused on AI based optimised software solutions for security automation and analytics using advanced data analytical frameworks enabled by cloud and edge computing technologies. You will be expected to carry out research and development activities that would have significant impact on our industry collaborators' abilities to design, evaluate, deploy, and operate highly complex software systems aimed at predicting, preventing, and recovering from cyber attacks, which may cause enormous social and economic losses. This role includes several opportunities to engage and collaborate with our international collaborators in Europe and USA.

To be successful you will need:
  • PhD in Computer Science or closely related field.
  • Demonstrated ability in conducting and publishing high quality research on one or more of the topics related to applied AI, ML, Optimized Solutions for large scale system.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with designing and implementing algorithmic and optimization approaches for software systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting a research team by contributing to the mentoring of PhD and graduate/undergraduate students.
  • Commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion.
