Family Drug & Alcohol Court Project

A Local Authority based in the South West is currently implementing an innovative court model which offers an alternative to standard care proceedings where drug and alcohol misuse is a key contributing factor.

Highlights:

• Will be working on an innovative new Court Work model and specifically will be working with Family Drug and Alcohol Court
• This is a model which uses a therapeutic and problem solving approach
• FDAC provides a problem solving and restorative approach to care proceedings
• The programmes aims to help parents change their lifestyle which may have put their children at risk of harm
• Work closely with the Judiciary as part of a specialist multidisciplinary team

This is an excellent opportunity to take on a unique post with an innovative Local Authority which is trialling a new way of working to specifically improve outcomes for families by working directly with parent who may have issues around substance misuse. The Local Authority have already adopted a therapeutic approach to its Social Work practice encouraging practitioners to work directly with service users and using a relationship based approach to identify root causes of issues and addressing these.

The Local Authority provides a wealth of training opportunities and will provide all the support you require to get you up to speed with their approach as well as fund a number of courses provided by its partner educational institutions which will improve your employability prospects.
