Social Worker - Leaving Care/Unaccompanied Asylum - 9 Months Maternity Cover

NonStop's client is a Outstanding rated local authority based near Kingston who are looking for Social Workers for their Leaving Care/Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children team for a fixed term period of 9 months to cover the maternity leave.

  • Experience dealing with homeless 14-17 year old

  • Extensive Social Work experience with children services

The Leaving Care service works across the borough to support young people from the age of 16 who are looked after, have recently left care (up to the age of 25) or who are unaccompanied asylum-seeking children. The main focus for the service is to drive forward the focus on achieving stability for our children leaving care. They are committed to delivering safe, effective services to our Looked After Children & young people. We are looking a Social Workers who is motivated and can deliver services to ensure the best possible outcomes for every child and young person.

You are expected to act as a corporate parent to our young people and be the lead professional. You will work alongside other professionals, to ensure that our young people receive appropriate care, education and health services, and any other support needed to ensure their needs are appropriately met. You will undertake regular statutory visits, complete and update assessments and review the young people's pathway plan.
