Dedicated Task-force Team

A Local Authority based in the West Midlands is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their newly formed Task-force which has been setup to clear of a backlog of cases and they have brought in a specialist manager to help support this

Highlights:

  • This is a specialist team which has been setup by a new Team Manager which focuses on closing cases safely and whilst keeping children at the heart of practice.
  • Caseloads are exceptionally low in the team - between 16-20. Caseloads do not rise beyond 20 and this is for the most competent Social Worker.
  • The manager is an extremely experienced manager with a proven track record of closing cases with little to no cases having to be reopened
  • The manager has exceptional knowledge around Thresholds so that Social Workers in their team are not holding onto cases for longer periods then necessary.
  • The Local Authority has a dedicated Court Work team which deal with this aspect of cases.
  • Telephone interviews are being arranged as early as this evening and the manager is happy to conduct these calls before or after work.
  • Pay rates for this post are in line with memorandum rates.
  • This is an excellent opportunity to join a team within a developing Local Authority that has been specifically setup to help reduce the number of cases. An extremely experienced manager has been recruited to help support this task and they have a proven track record of closing cases safely whilst ensuring none of these cases are having to be reopened, effectively keeping the workload of Social Workers down. Furthermore the manager has an excellent understanding of Thresholds so as a member of the team you wont be having to hold on to cases for longer than necessary.

    Already the manager has made a profound impact on caseloads; reducing their teams caseloads in some instances to 16, with caseloads between Social Workers between 16-20. Caseloads do not increase beyond 20 which is low for the region. Ultimately this will reduce your workload and ensure that you have a much healthier work/life balance so that you can spend more time doing things you enjoy.
