Job Details
The Musculoskeletal Research Unit in the Bristol Medical School is seeking an enthusiastic Research Associate to cover maternity leave to work full-time on a Wellcome collaborative grant 'The role of size, shape and structure of bones and joints, in explaining common musculoskeletal diseases'.
As the successful post holder, you will assist the project manager in the generation of DXA-derived phenotypes from scans obtained in participants of the UK Biobank imaging study. The main responsibility of being the post holder, will be to generate the phenotypic variables which will comprise hip shape and hip geometry (from hip DXA scans), knee shape (from knee DXA scans) and scoliosis (from whole body DXA scans) using software developed by the collaborators. In addition, the candidate will assist the project manager with data cleaning and linkage with the UK Biobank resource.
