Are you an early career researcher looking for an interdisciplinary challenge?
Do you have a background in modifying nanomaterials for real-life applications?
Are you keen to explore science at the interface of materials science, inorganic chemistry and continuous flow chemistry?
This role will involve the study of nanocarbon aerogels in context of homogeneously catalysed flow reactions. The post will include fabrication of nanocarbon aerogels, advanced materials characterisation, inorganic synthesis and reaction optimisation in flow. This position is jointly supervised Dr Menzel (materials chemistry), Prof Blacker (Reaction Engineering) and Prof McGowan (inorganic chemistry) at the School of Chemistry, University of Leeds.
You will have submitted (or will be close to submitting) a PhD in nanomaterials science and/or inorganic chemistry. Experience in the synthesis and characterisation of functional nanomaterials and a basic understanding of chemical flow technologies are essential. You will also have an enthusiasm for working with colleagues from different scientific fields and excellent communication skills.
