The Department of Surgery provides comprehensive and sub-specialty care in the areas of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Dental-Oral, Maxillo-facial Surgery, General Surgery, Breast Surgery, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic Surgery, Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Urology and Vascular Surgery. The Department has 105 full-time and part-time faculty with a strong commitment towards teaching and research. Formal structured undergraduate teaching, postgraduate residency and fellowship programs are integrated into the academic functions of the department.

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Assistant / Associate Professor, General Surgery.

Responsibilities

Establishing service and training of full range of advanced Laparoscopic surgery will be your primary responsibility. You will also be responsible to manage general surgical patients for acute and chronic conditions in outpatient as well as inpatient setting. In addition, you will undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research and specified administrative activities.

Requirements

Skills and experience in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery is a mandatory. You must be an experienced academician and a clinician with exit level qualification in General Surgery, have completed a structured postgraduate training programme from a reputable institution, possess FCPS, FRCS, American Boards or equivalent qualification, and demonstrated scholarship through research, publications and/or contribution to education. Fellowship/Advanced Training in Laparoscopic Surgery is a requirement. Applicants for Assistant Professor position should have at least three years of experience while applicants for Associate Professor position should have eight years of experience of teaching and research in a university recognized by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, after completion of your training.
