Die Buchreihe "... für Dummies" besteht als globale Marke seit 30 Jahren und bietet ihren Lesern einen leichten Einstieg ohne Fachchinesisch. Sie wird in Deutschland bei WILEY-VCH mit Sitz in Weinheim publiziert, das zur internationalen wissenschaftliche Verlagsgruppe John Wiley & Sons gehört.

Für das deutschsprachige Lektorat der Buchreihe der globalen Marke "... für Dummies" suchen wir schnellstmöglich eine/n

Lektor (w/m/d) in Weinheim

In der Position eines Senior Acquisition Editor sind Ihre Aufgaben:
  • Akquise und Betreuung deutschsprachiger Buchprojekte der ".... für Dummies"-Reihe von der Marktanalyse über die Entwicklung der Buchidee und Erstellung des Exposés bis zur Drucklegung des Buches
  • Steuerung und Projektbegleitung der Autoren während der Manuskripterstellung
  • Verantwortung für das Lektorat von Manuskripten, digitale Korrektur der Satzfahnen, Erstellung von Werbetexten sowie Präsentation bei Verkaufstagungen
  • Projektmanagement von Übersetzungen, Festlegung und Kontrolle der nötigen Anpassungen für den deutschsprachigen Markt, Steuerung von Übersetzern und freien Mitarbeitern

Ihr Profil:
  • Neben einem abgeschlossenen Studium verfügen Sie über mindestens fünf Jahre Berufserfahrung in einem Lektorat.
  • Sie haben erfolgreich bewiesen, dass Sie Autoren akquirieren und steuern können und Buchprojekte im geplanten Zeit- und Kostenrahmen zum Abschluss bringen.
  • Sie haben ein gutes Gespür für Trends und neue Themen.
  • Die Vielfalt der "... für Dummies"-Reihe reizt Sie und Sie bringen die Bereitschaft mit, sich stets in neue Themen einzuarbeiten.
  • Sie verfügen über einen guten Kommunikationsstil, haben gute Englischkenntnisse, Erfahrungen im professionellen Projektmanagement und ein Verständnis für die finanzielle Seite des Publizierens.
  • Sie arbeiten gerne im Team und pflegen einen freundlichen, aber bestimmten Umgang mit Autoren und Übersetzern.
