Job Details

One of the country's leading art and design schools, Winchester School of Art continues to build on its reputation for excellence and innovation. Our modern studios and workshops are furnished with industry-standard equipment; we work with ambitious students whose abilities are matched by their creativity and enthusiasm; and we attract staff who flourish in a dynamic learning environment where they can share their contemporary knowledge and expertise in art and design.

For this role we are seeking a candidate to work within the Printed Textiles pathway of the Fashion and Textile Design programme, working with students at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. This role will complement our existing Technical Services team.

To be successful you will have in-depth knowledge and expertise in the field of printed textiles and particularly digital textile printing, dyeing fabrics, steaming, screen-printing and other associated processes. You will possess a strong working knowledge of CAD Software including Adobe Photoshop, illustrator and InDesign and be up to date with technological advances in the area. You will be able to deliver technical teaching both on campus and online. Candidates will have experience of working in a busy environment and possess excellent communication, organisational and inter-personal skills. You must be able to demonstrate that you can work accurately and within relevant policies and procedures.

Candidates should have an aptitude for problem solving and assisting students in realising their design vision.

For an informal discussion about the post, please contact Andrew Brook on: aib@soton.ac.uk.

We aim to be an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
