Specialist in Contextual Safeguarding

A Local Authority based in London is looking for a Social Worker that specialises in Contextual Safeguarding to join their dedicated Task Force

Highlights:

  • This is a dedicated Task Force which has been developed due to an emerging theme within the Authority
  • Local Authority achieved an Outstanding Ofsted
  • Currently the role is split between working from the office and working from home.
  • The team work closely with Functional Family Therapists specifically with service users who maybe exploited by gangs as a part of a new trial which is the first team to be established outside the USA
  • The team aim to provide a preventative service for those aged between 11-17 at risk of exploitation
  • The team includes embedded specialists, such as gang workers
  • The Local Authority has developed an innovative exploitation mapping process, which identifies where the issues are occurring
  • There are 2 Senior Practitioners on the team, with 1 taking the lead on Gangs and the other taking the lead on CSE
  • This is an exciting opportunity to take on a focused role which will see you work with a specific service user group to help support those individuals who maybe affiliated with Gangs. The Local Authority has developed an innovative mapping process which you will have the opportunity to be a part of as well as help develop to identify regions where these issues are taking place. So far the Task Force has had tremendous success and has helped prevent the proliferation of these issues to the wider community. Furthermore the work done by the team has been received praise from Ofsted.

    You will be joining a stable team which works closely with the police and other services in the Local Authority to help support those children and young people who maybe associated with gangs. Furthermore the Task Force has integrated specialists to help support you with your caseloads so that information is readily available to you and that you don't have to chase this down. Additionally the Local Authority is very well resourced and you will have access to these to help support you ultimately reducing your own workload whilst maintaining a high level of service for service users.
