The School of Education is seeking to appoint an outstanding and inspirational academic leader at Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor level and applications are sought from candidates who can demonstrate intellectual leadership and interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing complex educational questions around issues of social justice. We are particularly interested in recruiting educational scholars in areas relating to: race justice and education (e.g. environmental racism, Black Studies, decolonising education); gender and education (e.g. intersectional feminism, feminist and queer studies, Feminist Studies); socioeconomic justice and education (e.g. geographical inequalities; education, social class and poverty; racial capitalism); disability and education (e.g. intersectional disability studies, critical disability studies); environmental justice and education (young people and climate futures; climate change education; sustainable futures).

We are interested in applications from candidates who can clearly articulate how their research and teaching complement our existing research strengths and we are keen to recruit those who complement our current strengths in collaborative/creative research or advanced quantitative methods in education.

The successful candidate will be expected to engage with and contribute to the intellectual life of the School. They will have an established international reputation for their research and a proven track record in successfully applying for research funding. This is a key appointment and represents a fantastic opportunity to shape the development of our research environment and teaching and learning culture in the school. We are therefore looking for recent and relevant experience of research and teaching leadership

For informal enquiries, please contact Professor Melissa Allen, The closing date for applications is midnight on the 8th November 2020.

We welcome applications from all members of our community and are particularly encouraging those from diverse groups, such as members of the LGBT+ and BAME communities, to join us.
