The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) has an exciting career opportunity for a management research position in the Division of Safety Research (DSR). NIOSH, part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is the federal institute that conducts research and makes recommendations for preventing work-related injuries, illnesses and deaths.
The position is for Chief of the Surveillance and Field Investigations Branch. The Branch Chief provides guidance, technical direction, and administrative oversight for the DSR injury surveillance and field investigation programs, including the Fatality Assessment and Control Evaluation (FACE) and Fire Fighter Fatality Investigation and Prevention Programs, in a state-of-the-art occupational safety and health research facility located in Morgantown, West Virginia. The Division serves as the focal point for traumatic injury research at NIOSH. The successful applicant should possess a record of scientific achievement and administrative experience.
Morgantown is one of the top small cities in the United States, with quality schools, outdoor recreation and sports, and various cultural activities. The NIOSH facility is adjacent to West Virginia University with easy access to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.
