Job Details
Are you a skilled and motivated computer software professional looking for your next challenge?
Are you interested in supporting academics in one of the leading research-intensive universities in the UK by helping them to bridge the gap between research and cutting-edge applications in FinTech?
Would you like to enhance your skills and boost expertise via playing a key role in an ambitious commercialisation related project?
We are looking for a talented and highly competent Research Software Engineer (RSE) to join our project in the area of statistical modelling and machine learning.
The project, funded by the Northern Triangle Initiative (NTI), aims to package a state-of-the-art multivariate extreme value model into a scalable prototype software solution with validated capability to process real-time data and provide accurate predictions of future extreme events, primarily targeting roll-out in the FinTech sector. The RSE job will entail the architecture development and solution implementation both on premises as well as a scalable cloud hosting, including user interface (UI) design.
You will be based in the School of Mathematics working in close contact with Dr Leonid Bogachev (PI), and will also be interacting with the University of Leeds Research IT Professional Service as well as with the Leeds Institute for Data Analytics (LIDA) . The post is fixed term until 31 July 2021 at 50% to 100% FTE. Where appropriate and upon request, we will consider job sharing and/or flexible work arrangements including variable FTE and time commitment.
