The University of Basel is a university with an international reputation, which provides excellent research and teaching. Founded in 1460, it is the oldest university in Switzerland and can look back on over 550 years of successful history. Within the University of Basel, the Facilities department is responsible for the operation, maintenance and construction of all properties that are used by the University of Basel.

The Security and Guidelines department is responsible for the implementation of all safety-related topics at the University of Basel and creates appropriate guidelines based on the applicable laws and standards. The extensive area of responsibility of this department also includes the operation of various security and access systems.

The job holder is responsible for the operation of the alarm reporting systems, door control systems, operation and programming of time switches, online lockers, network clocks, programming and maintenance of offline ZUKO components. This office also supports the UNIcard operation in all tasks and takes on deputies.

Your tasks
  • Ensuring the operation of the alarm reporting systems (operational and administrative)
  • Programming of ZUKO rights in the ZUKO systems
  • Intervention in the event of malfunctions in the ZUKO components
  • Participation in renovation and new construction projects within the scope of the responsibilities
  • Procurement and commissioning of GSA systems as well as their maintenance.
  • Participation in support across all responsibilities of the UNIcard team


Your profile
  • Completed professional training as an electrician / mechatronics technician / telematics technician / building automation / building IT specialist
  • Several years of professional experience
  • Experience in dormakaba Exos / Evolo Manager / TMS, Gantner Relaxx and Polyright Manager is desirable
  • Good IT-Skills
  • Team-oriented, independent and structured way of working
  • You have a high level of social skills, are communicative and appreciate a scientific environment.
  • Stylish spoken and written German, knowledge of English is an advantage
