The Division of Radiobiology at the Department of Medical Imaging and Clinical Oncology (MICO), Stellenbosch University, aims to develop human capital in the specialised field of Radiobiology. We are committed to facilitating knowledge and skills development of our students to support safe and competent application of ionising radiation in clinical and industrial facilities. The Division of Radiobiology seeks to appoint a lecturer in our Radiobiology division and invites applications from suitably qualified candidates.

Duties
  • Maintaining and enhancing existing Radiobiology teaching platforms at Stellenbosch University across the medical disciplines;
  • Offering relevant contemporary theoretical and practical content (for example: lectures, seminars, laboratory guidance), as required, to radiobiology students across the Stellenbosch University disciplines;
  • Active involvement in the development of postgraduate teaching modules;
  • Participating in the teaching activities of MICO;
  • Participating in research and publication of research findings;
  • Research/practical supervision of students;
  • Academic administration and management;
  • Role in the recruitment of postgraduate students.


Job requirements
  • Master's degree in Radiobiology with a minimum of three years' research experience in radiobiology;
  • Demonstration of publication in peer-reviewed journals;
  • Evidence of skills in research methodology relevant to radiobiology;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills;
  • Computer literacy commensurate with research and lecture requirements;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
  • Ability to teach modules in the radiobiology programme at postgraduate level.


Recommendation
  • PhD in Radiobiology;
  • Active in professional associations;
  • History of presentations at conferences.
