The University of Adelaide Enterprise Agreement 2017-2021 will apply to a successful candidate's employment at the University. The University recently applied for a temporary variation to its Enterprise Agreement. Please be advised that the salary range, along with other conditions associated with this position, may change in accordance with the variation to the Enterprise Agreement.

Mathematics forms the foundation of many critical aspects of life, learning and work opportunities. Teachers play a critical role in the development of student skills and attitudes towards Mathematics. We are excited to be partnering with Education Services Australia with funding from the Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment to produce three Mathematics MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) for Australian teachers across Foundation to Year 10. Join us in this exciting opportunity to create comprehensive, engaging and inclusive professional learning resources to support the uptake of Maths in schools by all students.

We are seeking highly-skilled mathematics educators who are passionate about inspiring teachers and students with innovative and inclusive pedagogies and in communicating the importance of mathematics to careers and opportunities.

The Mathematics & Numeracy Project Officer (Content Developer) will work as part of the MOOCs development team to build content for the new Mathematics MOOCs drawing on existing high-quality and innovative mathematics learning teaching resources and careers advice. We are seeking experienced curriculum writers/teachers with solid knowledge in and practical application of the Mathematics Learning Area (F-10) and the Numeracy Capability (F-10). Experience in designing and delivering teacher professional learning is highly desirable.

This position is offered as a home-based role and therefore is not limited to South Australia, applications are welcome from across Australia.

To be successful you will need:
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the Mathematics learning area and Numeracy Capability (Foundations-10)
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in developing and delivering high-quality curriculum resources in Mathematics and Numeracy (Foundations-10)
  • Good knowledge of innovative and evidence-based practice in primary and/or secondary mathematics education.
  • A working knowledge of high-quality and contemporary resources that support mathematics learning and teaching and careers awareness.
  • Active participation in teacher professional learning communities in mathematics education.
