Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) is a Department dedicated to develop a center of excellence for high quality and high impact clinical trials both nationally & internationally. The Department promotes AKU's vision by providing leadership, consultation and facilitation in different phases of clinical trials in compliance with the International Standards and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.

The Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Research Specialist, Clinical Trials Unit.


You will be responsible to:
  • develop and implement procedures for effective data management
  • create rules and procedures for data sharing
  • oversee and manage staff members in the daily use of data systems
  • ensure adherence to institutional, local and international regulatory requirements
  • regularly monitor and evaluate information and data systems that could affect analytical results
  • assess system performance and make recommendations for software, hardware, and data storage improvements
  • manage incoming data files of all CTU studies (both paper and electronic data) and maintain proper archiving based on study requirements
  • continually develop data management strategies, maintain and update dash board for vaccine trials
  • maintain and update CTU Data Management System (DMS) for study records
  • assist with recognizing and upholding digital security systems to protect delicate information
  • analyze and generate study reports where applicable
  • train and supervise study team on data entry
  • strictly adhere to data confidentiality and privacy polices.


You should have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or related field with minimum of 3 years' experience in data management or analysis OR
  • Master's in Computer Science /Statistics or related field with at least one-year experience in data management or analysis
  • an analytical mindset with superb communication and problem-solving skills
  • ability to work with a high degree of accuracy with multiple data elements
  • strong skills in time management and setting priorities
  • excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • ability to multi-task.
